As sunflower oil is preferred to the darker linseed oil for light shades, the possible yellowing is reduced to the technically feasible minimum.

The oil color can be used from the tube with a brush or a painting knife. It can be used both pure or translucent, e.g. diluted with turpentine oil. In addition, LUKAS TERZIA oil colors are easily miscible with all other LUKAS oil ranges from the professional quality 1862 OIL, to the premium quality STUDIO OIL and BERLIN watermixable oil colors, as well as LUKAS painting mediums for oil colors.

The field of application of LUKAS TERZIA OIL is diverse, as it can be applied on a large variety of painting surfaces, whether classic on stretched canvas, on canvas panels or oil paper, which is particularly well suited for smaller work or study purposes, or on wooden boards of any kind, as old masters already practised. However, it is important in any case to prepare the painting surface with a primer. This isolates the substrate and prevents the absorption of the binder, which allows the color to remain shiny and not become brittle.
